WKNC hosts Radio Ride bike race 
WKNC’s Radio Ride is modeled after similar bike races hosted in the Triangle, including the HepCat and WESAcat races, and expects to draw between 50 and 100 participants. Riders will receive a set of clues pointing them to various checkpoints around the NC State campus and downtown Raleigh and should expect to bike between 15 and 20 miles. Prizes for the top finishers include donated items from Fyxation, Raleigh Denim and Negative Fun Records.

EMCC launches college radio station

East Mississippi Community College has taken to the air waves. The community college has launched it’s own radio station, the 100-watt WGTC 92.7 FM. The station broadcasts from the school’s Mayhew campus and reaches about 15 miles in each direction.
