Station Spotlight: WLOY-AM

Let’s shine the Station Spotlight on WLOY-AM at Loyola University in Baltimore. According to Operations Manager John Devecka, the station has a number of impressive accomplishments to share:

• Raised more than $10,000 for Xavier University after Hurricane Katrina

• Raised more $3,000 last year for middle school students in Baltimore City Public Schools
• Helped found Baltimore Community Radio Coalition (501c3) and secured a RTNDF support grant
• Developed new community radio hour for kids programs and working on new twice weekly childrens radio show.
• Won Best of Baltimore 2006 for Best Local Music Radio Show (over all the licensed stations) by the City Paper.
