CBI welcomes new student member

College Broadcasters, Inc. is pleased to welcome Daniel Oakes, a senior in mass media from Valdosta State University as its student representative. Selected by the board in March among a number of qualified applicants, Oakes currently serves as station manager for CBI member station WVVS 90.9 Blaze FM. Read more about Oakes from VSU News.

Nominations for CBI’s next student representative are now being accepted. The one-year term begins Dec. 1, 2011. Interested students must be from CBI member stations and not graduate before December 2012. To be considered, nominations must be received by Elections Commissioner Chris Thuringer (chris2@uky.edu) by May 31. Self-nominations are accepted. The election of all new Board positions will be held this fall, with results to be announced at the National College Media Convention in Orlando in October.
