College radio stations support N.C. music venue The Pinhook
The “Save the Pinhook” concert series, hosted by the college radio stations, is part of this massive effort. On Wednesday, WKNC presented the first show in the four night series. The stacked lineup that night included the highly-danceable headliners, Sylvan Esso, and bluegrass maestros, The Chatham County Line.

UT student Darrell Bowles overcomes challenges on the air at WUTK-FM
The radio station has allowed him to explore a medium that had always piqued his interest. As a student at the Tennessee School for the Blind in Nashville, Bowles experimented with hosting his own show with a friend after radio equipment was donated to the school.
His passion for radio was present even when it didn’t seem like a practical field for someone visually impaired. However, with new technological advances and help from a partner, Bowles is able to do what he loves.
