WREK Celebrates 50 Years of Music Radio at Georgia Tech

“It wasn’t what you’d expect on a college radio station. It got really strange for a while there. People used to make jokes about — if you turned on WREK you might hear punk rock or you might hear bricks being bashed against each other, and you might enjoy the bricks more than the punk rock because they would’ve found the ‘really difficult to listen to’ punk rock.”

WHFR-FM hosts ‘Radiothon 2018’ to support non-commercial radio

Tune in and get your groove on to support WHFR-FM (89.3 FM) – Henry Ford College’s non-commercial, independent radio, and Internet broadcast station – during its its annual pledge drive this week.

“Radiothon 2018” runs through April 14, with a variety of live concerts and special on-air events scheduled throughout the week.

BSC TV 3 ready to make return with new leadership

SUNY Buffalo State’s campus television station is producing a variety of new content after semesters of inactivity. Buffalo State College TV is looking to release new material starting the first week of May.

Elijah Muhammad is the showrunner of the new BSC TV series The Negropedia.

“We were going to call it ‘Ethnically Challenged, but we didn’t want to offend anyone,” Muhammad said. Muhammad wants the show to be an entertaining and educational program about African American culture and history.
