NSEMC 2020: Online, Oct. 28-30

The 2020 College Broadcasters, Inc. National Student Electronic Media Convention (NSEMC) will be held online Oct. 28-30.

The CBI Board of Directors has decided, after extensive research and discussion, that this is best for the safety of CBI members and guests. We expect to produce high-quality content that you are used to seeing at CBI events; specifically, we strive to provide insightful presentations and inspire exceptional ideas. There will be opportunities to network with your peers and special guests, to access the latest technology and expert vendors. We’ll also be offering some exciting new content that can only be done through the online convention format. You can also expect modified and innovative versions of our Swag Swap Social and National Student Production Awards Ceremony.

One change we’re pleased to announce for this year is for registration fees. For this year, registration fees will be per media outlet member. For $100, you may include as many affiliated attendees from your organization as you like. Through our surveys and focus groups of our members this summer, we learned that budgets will be tighter than usual, so we want to make this opportunity as widely available and interactive as possible for you.

We will also be producing online sessions twice a month between now and the convention. We hope that you will find these particularly relevant to starting an in-person experience for your students in our new reality, as well as just-in-time workshops with tips on training, programming and recruiting new members at the onset of the fall semester.

Information and registration for member and non-member attendees, vendors and guests is available at at AskCBI.org/nsemc2020. For information on programming, email Events@AskCBI.org. For information about vendor and sponsorship opportunities, email Development@AskCBI.org
