New keynote speaker for Thursday

Rich Beckman of the University of Miami School of Communication will give the opening keynote address at the National College Media Convention in Kansas City. He replaces Brian Storm. During his talk, titled “It’s Our Time to Lead: The Changing Role of the Collegiate Journalist,” Prof. Beckman will discuss how multimedia storytelling, social networks and citizen journalism have changed today’s media landscape and created tremendous opportunities for the collegiate press and young journalists.
