Job Posting: KRUA Student Station Manager

KRUA 88.1 FM at University of Alaska Anchorage is accepting applications for its student station manager. This position is responsible for hiring, training and supervision of staff and for recruiting and training volunteers. Station manager duties include chairing weekly KRUA staff meetings, hosting monthly KRUA volunteer meetings, collecting timesheets bi-weekly, coordinating purchase of office/station necessities with Student Media administrative staff, facility and equipment maintenance and upkeep of the FCC Public File. Complete details are available from UAA Human Resources.

Applicants for this 30-hour week position must be enrolled in a University of Alaska degree-seeking program. UAA offers graduate degrees in a number of areas, including English and public administration.

KRUA 88.1 FM is an educational station created to enhance the student experience at the University of Alaska Anchorage by providing news, sports, public affairs, music, campus event coverage and broadcast experience. KRUA employs 10-12 students, trains more than 80 volunteer DJs each year, and partners with the Department of Journalism & Public Communications to provide training and hands-on experience for JPC and other students.
