FCC seeks localism comments
Last Updated on July 23, 2008 by askcbiorg
The FCC has proposed a slew of new regulations that would cause stations to file new detailed reports, form Community Advisory Boards, staff the station during all hours of operation and potentially require stations to change their main studio location and more. It is important for all FCC licensed radio stations to file comments in this proceeding in order to avoid unnecessary burdens from the FCC.
We have taken steps to help you make your station’s voice heard before the FCC. CBI will be filing comments on behalf of its members. In order to provide accurate data, we need to ask you to complete a short survey immediately. We’ve made it easy for you to file comments as well by providing a template and instructions
Download the template (in Word). In addition to providing your name and address at the end of the template, there are four sections which call for your direct input. Make these changes and save the document.
Go to the FCC submission page. Fill in the contact information, leaving the law firm and attorney fields blank. Box 1 should be filled with 04-233. Box 12 should be left with the default “Comment”. Use the browse function to find your customized comments from step 2 and select Microsoft word, unless you changed the document format. Press the submit button!
