Help break the tie by using the link sent to the email associated with your CBI membership. There is only one vote per media outlet, and ballots must be submitted by March 21 at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern). The candidate statements shown below are also available through links on your ballot.

Programming Director, WSOU (Seton Hall University)

I am Joey Nardone, a junior at Seton Hall. I joined WSOU in 2019 and after a gap year I returned as assistant programming director in the 2021-22 school year and became the programming director the following year. WSOU’s longstanding reputation not only in the college radio community but also in the professional radio industry has prepared me to work alongside other radio professionals. In my role as Program Director, I manage over 40 DJs, interact with alumni, many of whom currently working in the media industry, and format all of WSOU’s programming. I also led the Program Directors roundtable and spoke on a panel that talked about working with administration at the 2022 NSEMC in Baltimore My goals as Student Representative to the CBI board are to plan student events that promote interaction, increase attendance to panels, and add a community interaction aspect. Ideas I have include working with a local musical artist and venue to have a student social and taking advantage of being in Orlando with an event that ties in the proximity to the Atlantic coast. Thank you for your consideration.

Fletcher Peterson, General Manager, WZND (Illinois State University)

I currently serve as the General Manager at WZND Fuzed Radio broadcasting from Illinois State University. Prior to assuming the role of General Manager, I served as Program Director and produced an award-winning weekly throwbacks show. I am also a journalism student at ISU’s television news outlet, TV-10. Under my directorship and through the hard work of my staff, I am proud to say WZND has widened our community outreach, increased revenue, and regained a number of interns not seen since before the start of the pandemic. With a broad range of experience in student media, I believe I can offer a unique perspective to the Board of College Broadcasters Inc. Through my time at WZND and TV-10, I have seen firsthand the effects quality broadcast education can have on students’ abilities to achieve their goals and potentials. I would be honored to further the mission of CBI in helping reach every campus nationwide with informative and critical programs and events aimed at producing quality student-broadcasters.

Kailyn Shalosky, Program Director, WMCO/Orbit Media (Muskingum University)

My name is Kailyn Shalosky, the current TV and Radio Program Director for Orbit Media and WMCO, New Concord, which I got involved with in the fall of 2020, my first semester of college. I’ve also served as News Director and Music Director, have my own radio show once a week, and I’ve trained four DJs in my five semesters. I’m always looking for ways to expand my media horizons, which is why I’m interested in applying for the CBI Student Representative position as it would be an entire change in atmosphere for me. I’m a huge advocate for college broadcasting, and I love helping my team achieve their goals on both sides of radio and television. This experience will allow me to not only impact my own station, but stations across the country. The unity of college broadcasting is important, and I want to help future generations feel inspired.
