FCC Checklist

Last Updated on June 19, 2013 by Chris Keppler

For FCC licensed stations, nothing is more important than avoiding fines and being found in violation of the FCCs rules as this can cause your licensee (normally the university or college) to question the value of your license or even your existence.

CBI suggests strongly that all FCC licensed stations go through the appropriate FCC checklist.  It is also a wise decision to contact your state broadcasters association about an arranged unofficial inspection in order to fix problems before the FCC finds them.  This also prevents your station from being randomly selected for inspection for three years if you pass the alternative inspection.  If you do not pass, the inspector will provide you with an confidential report about problems at your facility.  CBI has compiled a list of state broadcasters associations for you.
