The CBI Board of Directors is now accepting session proposals for the second annual National Student Electronic Media Convention, to be held Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio on the Riverwalk.

The Convention brings students, advisers and staff from college radio and television stations across the country for three days of informative sessions, exhibitions and special sessions on all aspects of college broadcasting. Past session topics have covered a wide variety of topics, including FCC regulations, webcasting, legal issues, management and leadership, social media and more. The conference also includes the annual National Student Production Awards to honor the best work in television and radio production from students across the country.

“CBI encourages any and all to share their expertise with a crop of students who have an expressed interest in media in order to help them better understand the world beyond college media, improve their current efforts and how they can benefit and contribute to the future of any aspect of electronic media,” said CBI Executive Director Will Robedee. “This includes diverse areas, such as promotions, sales, engineering, on-air talent, management, social media and so much more. Just take a look at our list of sessions and professionals from last year (https://www.askcbi.org/atlanta/sessions-that-matter-to-you/) and it’s clear our goal is to educate and inform students. If you think you have something to offer the next generation of broadcasting professionals, we want to hear from you.”

Media professionals, students, advisers and legal professionals are invited to submit proposals, and preference is given to proposals with more than one speaker. Sessions proposals are being accepted now through Aug. 15, 2013 at (https://www.askcbi.org/sanantonio/sessions-and-programming/).
