The 2025 CBI Student Sportscasting Workshop, July 22-24, will cover all aspects of covering sports on radio, TV and online. The three-day virtual workshop will include:
- How to prepare for a game broadcast, and sessions on the fundamentals of calling the game, and play-by-play strategies for basketball, baseball, football and hockey.
- How to produce compelling game entertainment coverage and pregame/halftime/postgame segments that keep your viewers and listeners engaged.
- How to work cooperatively with sports information directors and local commercial sports outlets for the best coverage.
- Strategies and techniques for shooting and editing game highlights and promos.
- All the tech you need to know to produce from the press box.
- Tips and tricks to finding your first, or next, sportscasting internship or job.
