Student Representative (1-year term, begins 5/1/26)

Olivia Dockins

Olivia Dockins
Arkansas State University

Hi, I’m Olivia Dockins. I’m a student at Arkansas State University majoring in Creative Media and minoring in Strategic Communications. I currently serve as Student Director of Communications for the College of Liberal Arts and Communications, managing social media for Red Wolf Radio and editing audio interviews for KASU.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and writing, working out, and keeping up with pop culture.

Maximus Nast

Maximus Nast
Loyola University Maryland

My name is Maximus Nast, class of 2027 at Loyola University Maryland. I’m majoring in Communications with a dual specialization in Digital Media and Advertising & Public Relations with a minor in Marketing. I currently serve as the Program Director for WLOY Loyola Radio and am in my 3rd year hosting my decade themed radio show called “Bravo Radio”. My interest in broadcast media led to an internship with WMMR-FM in Philadelphia, working on the beloved “Preston and Steve” show. I host my own music discussion video podcast, “Let’s Talk About Listening” where we break down and analyze artists, albums, and song meanings. I work in our admissions office as a Greyhound Ambassador (tour guide) and visit different marketing courses to promote the marketing program via LMA (Loyola Marketing Ambassadors). I’m also a member of our all male acapella group, the Loyola Chimes! I had the opportunity to attend the CBI Conference in Denver this past year, and I learned valuable skills both about the production of quality media and the broadcasting business as a whole. I’m super excited to potentially serve as the CBI student representative: I’m passionate about broadcasting, storytelling, and human connection, and I have some ideas as to how to make the CBI Conference even more engaging and interactive. I’d love to see more interactive workshops, where students and faculty alike can immerse themselves in other projects from different schools. I’d like to see on-site student projects that would be up for awards at the end of the conference. After experiencing the convention in Denver, I am very excited to work with the board and help develop even more great events next year.

Em Marth

Em Marth
NC State University

My name is Em Marth (they/them), and I am the Program Director at WKNC 88.1 FM Raleigh. I am a third-year Technology, Engineering, and Design Education major at NC State University, and I have been a part of WKNC since Spring 2025. As someone who’s been in radio for almost a year now, I want to see the best out of it (specifically college radio), and therefore I am interested in running for the position of Student Representative on the CBI Board of Directors. Not only do I believe that I will be able to grow in this position (as I am still a learner), but I also believe that I have expertise that would benefit the nature of the position and benefit CBI as a whole. As the Program Director at WKNC, I am involved in a variety of digital content creation, mostly focused on audio production, but I also have visual content creation experience in both graphic design and video production in and outside of WKNC 88.1. I have worked for many years on my own designs and productions as a hobbyist but also this semester I planned out and produced a 24-hour live stream for WKNC 88.1, which was by far my biggest video production goal yet. I also believe that, as a somewhat newcomer to radio, I will have a unique expertise that can highlight what I’ve seen outside of radio as well as inside. I am also a flexible person, and have experience working in multiple positions that have varying degrees of responsibility and different duties. And, I would really like to use opportunities through this position to connect with others from other radio stations, either through CBI National Student Media Conference or through the Discord, as a good way to learn more about other radio stations. For these reasons, I am interested in running for the position of Student Representative and believe that I am a good fit.

Development Director (3-year term, begins 12/1/26)

John Devecka

John Devecka
Loyola University

I’m John Devecka, Operations Manager for WLOY Loyola Radio, and current Development Director for CBI. I jumped in to fill a partial term and am up for the regular election now. I brought in more money for the organization in Denver than in the previous year in Seattle and have a huge list of exhibitors and sponsors already interested for Philadelphia (my old hometown) as well as Cleveland. If re-elected I will do my best to keep bringing more funding into the organization despite the budget crisis everyone is facing. Weirdly, I am also responsible for the original Cybercast (2001 New Orleans) which will be 25 in Philadelphia!

Secretary (3-year term, begins 12/1/26)

Conner Clifton

Conner Clifton
Rice University

Conner Clifton has worked in radio his entire professional career. His first gig was as the founder and Station Manager of COOG Radio, the student-run radio station at the University of Houston. He went on to work for his local NPR and Pacifica affiliates (as well as a very brief stint in commercial radio). He has since returned to the world of college radio as the Assistant Director of Student Media at Rice University where he advises KTRU – the station he grew up listening to that inspired him to go into college radio in the first place! His passion for inspiring and fighting for a new generation of college radio students is what compelled him to run for the Secretary position with CBI and, if elected, he hopes to bring his A-game to the role!
